In 2015 Gforma fabricated most of the horizontal and vertical surfaces of the Holiday Inn hotel following the architects' interior concept. In 134 rooms, bed frames and headboards, worktops, shelving, shower enclosures and basins were made from flexible, easily thermoformed Corian®.
The double beds have Corian® headboards and foot-end shelves. A sliding mechanism built into the supports lets a double bed be converted into two singles and back. The solid surface bed frame is joined to the bedside table and moves with it, giving the impression of a bed floating in the air.
In the entrance area a Corian® table-bar folds out of the wall, joined to shelving and the wall panel carrying the TV, with a fridge built into the bar. A curved shower enclosure in two thicknesses of Corian® Ultra Translucent Ice forms the room wall from the outside: with the LED lighting on, a softly glowing wall with bright stripes is visible from the room. Bathroom shelves and basins are also made of Corian®.
Modern, elegant surfaces tie the bathroom, rest and work areas into one whole. The material is hygienic, non-absorbent, easy to clean and creates an impression of cleanliness and comfort.
